VIKASJYOTHI established at Mysore in 2018 as the Fransalian Resource Centre for Integral Human Development is an initiative of the South-West India Province of the Congregation of the Missionaries of Saint Francis de Sales also known as Fransalians or MSFS.
Vikasjyothi Scholarship Program (VSP) is an ongoing program which aims at finding sponsors for the most deserving children from the economically backward sections of society. The VSP has granted over 700 scholarships in India in the range of Rs. 6000/- , Rs. 12000/-, Rs. 18000/- and Rs. 24000/- annually. The main focus of VSP is the promotion of the girl-child. At least 50 % of the sponsored children are chosen from among the economically disadvantaged girls.
VSP has also been supporting over 150 children in the African countries of Chad and Cameroon each year during the past three years.
It is estimated that a monthly contribution in the range of Rs. 500/, Rs. 1000/- Rs 1500/- or Rs.2000/- will assure a child the basic minimum support for his/her primary/secondary/higher education respectively.
The sponsors are free to make a pledge of a smaller or a bigger amount according to their possibilities. One-time contributions will also be much appreciated and gratefully accepted and acknowledged.
All those who participate in this program will receive a photo of the child with a brief bio-data, family profile and a contact address. The sponsors will be kept informed about the progress of the sponsored child through our Newsletter Vikasjyothi and through direct contact with our office in Mysore.
Participation in this program is totally voluntary. A participant may revoke his/her pledge at any time without any obligation to give reasons for the same.
